Medical Doctors
Dr Miza Umar
MBBS (Adelaide) FRACGP
Dr Miza Umar is an Australian trained doctor. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Adelaide with MBBS in 1999, and completed her internship at Royal Adelaide Hospital, one of the most prestigious hospitals in South Australia.
Dr Umar moved to Queensland in 2004 to undertake postgraduate training program in General Practice and successfully obtained the Fellowship of Royal Australian college of General Practice (FRACGP) in 2006 and became a registered member of FRACGP. She has worked in various practices in Emerald and Gympie before moving to Brisbane. In 2008, she started to work at Waterford 7 Day Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic, since then, she has been working in the same practice for the last 15 years.
Dr Umar enjoys seeing a diverse group of patients in Waterford West. Her special interest is antenatal care, women’s health, paediatric health, mental health and chronic Illness management.
Dr Chuan Wai Lee
MBBS FRACGP
As a GP Specialist with Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Dr Lee has more than two decades of practising experience in all aspects of general practice. His areas of interest include Chronic diseases, Men’s health, Mental health as well as minor procedures such as excision of lumps and cysts, ingrown toe nail resection, skin lesion biopsy, excision and wound care.
He is passionate about skin cancer medicine and aims to provide a holistic and family-friendly approach to understand his patient’s medical needs. He strongly believes that excellent care starts with good patient-doctor relationship.
Dr Lee welcomes all ethnic backgrounds and is fluent in English, various Chinese dialects (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka), Malaysian and Indonesian language.
Dr Lee is a full time GP and available for consultations from Mondays to Fridays and on alternate Saturdays.
Dr Tasawar Aslam
MBBS FRACGP DAME Dip (OH)
Dr Aslam has more than 30 years of experience as a medical doctor. He has worked in many parts of the world such as The Seychelle Islands and in many parts of Australia including Western Australia and Mount Isa. He has worked as a surgeon for many years prior to becoming a GP and thus is very skilled at various surgical procedures which can be done under local anaesthetic. He is competent to surgically remove skin cancers, skin moles and skin tags. He is also very experienced in removing skin lumps and cysts including Lipomas and Sebaceous cysts.
Dr Aslam regularly performs complex skin cancer surgeries which involved the use of skin flaps, skin grafts and skin cancer reconstruction on all parts of the body including face, scalp, ears and hands.
Dr Aslam also offers ingrown toenail surgery, scar revision surgery including removal of keloid scars from ears and chest.
Dr Aslam is also a qualified Designated Aviation Medical Examiner and has special interests in Diving Medicine and Occupational Health Medicine.
Dr Fahima Chowdhury

Dr Chowdhury is an experienced female GP.

Dr Robina Shamas
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Robina is a very experienced General Pratitioner.
She has special interests in:
- Womens’ Health
- Chronic Disease Management
- Antenatal Care
- Skin Conditions including minor skin lesion excisions.
Dr Robina speaks English, Punjabi and Urdu.
Dr Karl Abdul-Karim
MBBS (Adelaide) FRACGP
Dr Karl graduated from Flinders University in South Australia in 1997. He completed his intership at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and subsequently worked in various Emergency Departments, Medical and Surgical Departments at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Lyell McEwin Hospital and Noarlunga Hospital in South Australia.
Dr Karl successfully completed his formal General Practice training in Queensland and was awarded with the Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2006.
He is keen in General Practice education and has been an active College Examiner for RACGP since 2012.
He has specific interest in chronic diseases management particularly Diabetes Mellitus, Heart Diseases, Hypertension and Asthma.
